CEQA Noise Technical Reports

Economic and environmental pressures in California have created a growing market for development projects, often on available parcels near established neighborhoods. For these projects, noise generated by construction activities and long-term operations affecting neighbors can be a key issue when addressing the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), particularly when seeking a Class 32 Categorical Exemption from a City or County planning agency. This complimentary 1-hour webinar will review the key components of a CEQA noise impacts analysis, including an overview of quantitative noise modeling methodologies, environmental noise settings, state and local noise regulations, project-generated noise impacts assessment, and noise mitigation measures. Lastly, Yorke staff will share some of our experiences in performing CEQA noise analyses in urban settings.
